Extreme in Scientific Research

Extreme is proud to support scientific research using our world leading technical knowledge base to enhance the research abilities of geochronologists from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology who are in Antarctica to monitor the highly active volcano, Mt. Erebus. With footage taken using Extreme cameras, they have been able to correlate the video taken during eruptions on a frame by frame basis with seismic, infrasonic, Doppler radar and gas emission data. All of this closely monitored information is being studied to help seismologist around the world. Being able to predict how a volcano behaves could possibly save lives should they occur in urban locations.
