Extreme in Wildlife Conservation Extreme is providing its expertise in day/night vision cameras to the Wildlife Conservation Network. These cameras are being used in remote locations to capture images of some of the most elusive cats in the world. These images are allowing conservationists and scientist to gain a better understanding of these endangered cats. Some of the cats currently being studied include:
Snow Leopard - Strikingly beautiful, very mysterious cat - Endangered: population estimated at 4,500-7,500 - Habitat: Alpine & sub-alpine mountains of Central Asia - Extreme cameras have recorded behaviors never before seen in the wild
Andean Mountain Cat - The most endangered cat species in the Americas - One of the most rare and least known felines worldwide - Primary threats: habitat loss & direct persecution by humans
Chinese Desert Cat - Various habitats in Mongolia, Tibet, China - Almost nothing is known of this cat and its hunting habits
